Fusion Gallery Logo's

We was asked to create three logo's for Fusion Gallery using only orange, black and white and then pick your favourite and create a banner with infomation.

My favourite logo out of the three is the first one so I decided to use this for for the banner, I also like the third design but thinks it looks a little too like a hairdressers logo. I decided to try out switching the background colour to orange and using black for the Fusion to see if it looked any better:

I still prefer my original one so have decided to use that for my banner:

Intro to Digital - Illustrator Creating my Piece

Intro to Digital - Illustrator Research & Idea's

I started this Illustrator project with very little previous experience at using the programme so the first thing I had to do was research how vector art is created and the different ways it is used, I then started trying different ideas and methods.

I looked at how InDesign is used in the industry for magazines, posters, leaflets etc, to try and generate some ideas of the the sort of work I will be looking to produce.

Layout Design Research & Idea's

When I started the project I looked at different grid systems to see how they worked, I did this by tracing the grids which enabled me to creat my own system, I then researched different artists that use the great outdoors and materials they use to create their artwork. The two artists I studied were Andy Goldsworthy and Richard Long, they both gave me lots of inspiration and  idea's on what I could look at when creating my work. Finally I brainstormed my idea's and eventually came up with three possible environments I could use: my uncles joinery workshop (wood and sawdust to create the grid), using electrical cables from the workshop or local woodland.
